“Good friends are like stars, you don’t always see them but you know they are always there.” – Christy Evans
Over the years I’ve met so many people I can’t even count them. I’ve always been a friendly person, and made friends wherever I’ve been. Some have stuck around, others haven’t.
For the last 2 weeks, I had the chance to see one of my good friends again, who is hitchhiking around the world with his wife. We had the chance to remember stuffs from the past, meet the couples, and promise to meet again soon in Europe.
We met, Bia and Pedro in Akumal, they were there for a wedding, and then heading to Acapulco for a short stay right before traveling to Mexico City. When they got here, we went to Teotihuacan. Our trip to Teotihuacan was different from all of the ones I had made so far, because I had always gone either with my father in law, or in a school tour. This time, since we didn’t want to spend much, and the official Mexico City Touribus was really expensive, around $900MX for each, we decided we would go to the Central del Norte, and adventure on a Bus. I have to confess I was kind of frightened by the idea, since even tough I live in the city, I had never done it before. In the end everything went really good, we found another Brazilian girl who had a connection to Paris, and had 7 hours to kill before her flight left, and was on a similar adventure.
On Saturday, 1 day before they left, we went to Chapultepec, to the Castillo and also to Zocalo. I wanted them to see the Gran Hotel de la Ciudad de Mexico, but we could not see the roof coffee, because they were having a private event and because of that we were not allowed to get in, maybe next time.
Finally yesterday(Sunday) they left to Rome and then Amsterdam, that is going to be the beginning of their EuroTrip.
Seeing him and hanging around again, even for a short period of time was refreshing, after all this years, we both got married, went different paths from what we studied in the University, but life has some funny ways of joining people again. What a small world.
Friendship, real ones last forever. No matter where you go or how long it has been, the moment you see each other, you resume everything, like if you were together for the last time a few days ago, even if you don’t speak in a while, when it’s truthful it doesn’t matter.
Thank you old friend, we will meet again soon.
