Our last weekend in Queretaro this year.
On Thursday, we traveled to Queretaro, a city in the State of … Queretaro, yes, it’s something Mexico has, lots of cities with the names of the state. We went to see Ana’s family, by her dad’s side. We got there right before lunch, which was perfect timing if you ask me, and avoided lots of traffic since a little bit latter it would have been rush our and we are not vey fond of rush hours in big cities.
We had the chance to see some aunts, grandma and grandpa. Ana’s grandpa has been in bed for a few years now, and he can’t recognize people around him, we stayed little time with him on the weekend, but Ana got some time to say goodbye before we came back to Mexico on Sunday. On Friday, we had the opportunity to go to Ana’s father’s graduation from the carpentry school. He retired a few years ago, from teaching chemistry, and since he was feeling a little bored, he decided to do something different. Well it turned out really awesome for him, since he got pretty good at it and he is even doing stuffs for everybody in the family now.
Well, Friday didn’t turned out so well for me, me and my unstoppable mouth, love eating everything new, let’s just say I had a King’s night.
On Saturday we had our goodbye party from the family and was kind of melancholic, everybody was happy for us but at the same time sad that we where leaving. Sunnday is always the best day in Queretaro, since is Barbacoa’s day, yes, we went to have breakfast at this barbacoa place and for the first time iI saw how they make a good one, from the hole in the ground. The meat stays there cooking for 10 hours, in banana leafs and only with the head from the rocks and coal.
We did have time for some play time with Lobo and Suri. Suri is the oldest beagle in the family and Lobo the youngest German Shepherd, or should I say, Black German Shepperd, amazing, the first one I get to know.
Now we are back in Mexico, in contrast with Queretaro, where is really, really hot, here it has been raining everyday for the past weeks and I dare say, that it will continue like this for a few more weeks, and it is kind of cold too.
Maybe next year we will be having another lunch like Saturday, as for the family in Mexico, we will be having another one soon.
